On one of our first dates, my wife thought I was bored. I was actually staring at the ceiling, working out how the building was put together. She married me anyway.

I’m Nate White, Principal Architect and founder of Engage Design Group, and that curiosity still drives me. My favorite thing in this work is watching people engage with a space: sitting in a quiet moment, gazing out a window, enjoying a room without quite knowing why. That feeling is what I design for.

I specialize in practical designs for families who want to rethink how they live in their homes. After nearly 20 years in architecture (since 2007), I’ve learned that the best projects start with listening, and that a good plan should feel easy for the people living through it.

Clients tell me I’m efficient, productive, and a pleasant person to work with. When you reach out, I answer. I’ll also update you before you have to wonder what’s happening with your project.

Away from the drafting table, you’ll find me cheering at my kids’ games and performances, or playing in a golf tournament. I also love to travel, so ask me about great places to go and good things to eat.
